To me it seems this is just another way for government to fix their reckless spending by taxing the little guy. I don't drink alot of soda, but do drink tea. We are ALL stuggling. Why hit us again. We pay Federal tax, State tax, Sales tax, the list goes on. What happended to only being taxed once? What happened to no tax without approval? Are you truly speaking for the people or for some self-satifying agenda. I'm tired of you (government - not you specifically) spending our money like it had not end.

Stop bailing the world out. Stop sending our money and jobs over sea. Stop bailing out corporations and their executives that can fun their businesses in the black. Tax corporations. Tax the wealthy. Make EVERYONE pay their fair share. Stop taxing the working class. Make a flat, reasonable, fair tax that EVERYONE pays, and pays once. A flat percentage, based on your gross. No loop holes, no tax incentives, no getting around paying your share. If everyone paid their portion we could resolve this in not time.

Charity begins at home. Clean up your house before worrying about someone elses. Cast the mote out of your eye. Get the point? We, the taxpayers (the ones actually paying them), are tired of being run over and abused. When is enough, enough? When have you bleed us dry?

Thank you for reading this, if you did.

I support this tax.  I would rather we tax discretionary items than those items/services necessary to survival.  For those who would say that these are groceries and, therefore, necessary to survival, I answer that tap water is available at a very low cost relative to any purchased drink.  Even in restaurants, tap water is available without charge.

Added sugar in the average American's diet leads to numerous expensive medical conditions.  To control health care costs, shouldn't we take some personal responsibility for managing our own health?  If we choose not to accept this level of personal responsibility, shouldn't we have to pay more?

I support broad base sales all new goods and consumer services with a prebate exempting everyone regardless of income up to the poverty by state issued prebate to all legal residence in the state of Kansas in exchange for the elimination of 39 current different taxes we now have.

This tax bill is a complete joke.
