    2008 Senate Bill 418 (Estimate juvenile offenders)

    Introduced in the Senate on January 15, 2008, to require the Kansas Sentencing Commission to annually produce a projection of the expected population of juvenile offenders in state custody

    The vote was 36 in favor, 3 opposed and 1 not voting

    Planning for Facilities

    I don't think it's that big of a deal. It's probably a smart thing to anticipate how many beds, employees, etc. that the system will need. You do hate to plan for something like that -- "We'll have 35 juvie perps from town X next year" -- but it's inevitable.
