Stimulus job impact

On October 17, the federal government reported that Stimulus funds to Kansas had saved/created 209 jobs in this state.  Two weeks later, that number mushroomed to 5,935 jobs.  Does that mean 5,726 workers were very recently on the verge of losing their jobs?  What do you think?

I am growing very weary of the false economy we are living in today.  First of all I do not believe that the Federal Stimulus Package actually created jobs, perhaps "saved" jobs.  Many of these jobs were in government and that is the root of the problem.  We have to trim the budget and cut government growth.  The economy is struggling by on federal programs.  Perhaps the best approach is to bottom out and then allow private industry, mainly small businesses come out of this economic downturn with a slim and motivated work force.
