Ruth Teichman (R) on January 20, 2009, in her role as a committee chair, to require any health insurance company providing group policies or a certificate of coverage to cover the cost of alcoholism, abuse or other substance use disorder treatment incurred by policyholders. The insurance company's deductibles, co-payments and coverage limits for alcohol and abuse treatments would need to be the same as for other medical benefits.
