Introduced by Rep. Richard Carlson (R) on February 6, 2009, in his role as committee chair, to allow homeowners who are at least 65 years old to pay their annual property taxes in four equal installments falling due on December 10, February 10, April 10, and May 10. The four-payment option would apply to both personal and realty property taxes. Currently, all taxpayers have the option to pay half of their property taxes in December and the other half in May.
Referred to the House Taxation Committee on February 9, 2009.
