Introduced by Rep. Kevin Yoder (R) on February 3, 2009, in his role as committee chair, to make several changes to required safety procedures for digging near buried utilities. The current Underground Utility Damage Protection act would be amended to: include water, sewer and stormwater lines among the utilities near which digging is regulated; preclude the state notification center from disclosing any information supplied by a utility operator unless necessary to carry out the law's safety precautions; and, modify tolerance zones for water lines versus that of other utilities such as gas, electric, and communications.
Referred to the House Energy and Utilities Committee on February 4, 2009.
