Introduced in the House on January 28, 2008, to allow people to get state licenses to work as athletic trainers under certain conditions without an examination. Generally, it would be available for someone already licensed in another state that Kansas considers to have licensure standards at least as high as this state's. Also, the bill would delete the current requirement for 800 hours of clinical experience prior to licensure.
Referred to the House Insurance and Financial Institutions Committee on January 29, 2008.
Reported to the House on February 22, 2008, recommending the bill be passed as amended. House committee amendments were clarifying and do not change the substance of the bill as previously reported.
