Introduced in the House on January 14, 2008, to create a new military service scholarship program to award college scholarships to military veterans of Iraq, Afghanistan, and other foreign operations after September 11, 2001. The scholarships would be awarded on a priority basis to applicants who have the greatest financial need and the state would fund the program at $500,000 next year. However, if all eligible students applied for and were granted a scholarship, its cost would be $2 million.
