Introduced in the House on January 14, 2008, to increase funding for K-12 education by allowing school districts to create additional retirement accounts for teachers who are endorsed to teach mathematics, science, or special education and who are eligible to retire. The school district could contribute up to $2,500 per teacher account and the state would match that amount. The bill is roughly estimated to cost the state an additional $2.5 million next year.
